Welcome to the first post in my new blog series: “The Chiropractor’s Wife.” this blog will be about the things I've learned the hard way. While working from home, I've made all the mistakes despite my chiropractic husbands good advise and thought I'd share it with others.
A few answers to common questions to get started.
Yes, I’m married to a chiropractor.
Yes, I can get chiropractic adjustments every week for free.
But here is the kicker. I don’t get adjusted every week. —I don’t believe I need to.
About me, a chiropractors wife
I work full-time in high tech, from home, and traveling 1-2 times a quarter. That means I spend most of my days sitting in front of a screen—often in the same position for hours. Gmail, Slack, Zoom or your GChat/Gmeeting equivalents all day for sure. I can mouse or track pad for hours with the best of them. I've worked from home for 5+ years. Yes, Covid helped start that, and I've been lucky.
My work from home journey started with a little room I converted to my office - and a ton of really bad habits. Unfortunately, I had to learn the hard way on how to get it right for my body.

Truthfully... I fell into the same traps as everyone else did in the in office and remote-work world. Sitting all day, mousing all day, bad monitor position, lack of ideal set up and more.... we'll talk about all of those here.
This blog series is my way of sharing my real-life insights—things I’ve learned the hard way as someone who has access to expert chiropractic care, but is stubborn, and still gets caught in the same physical (and mental) ruts as so many work-from-home professionals. You’ll find tips, ideas, reflections, and my favorite tools that help me stay mobile, and feeling myself, most of the time—even if I’m not on the chiropractic table every week.
How often should you get adjusted, every week?
The big question. How often should you get adjusted? Is it every week?
The answer is: it really depends on you and your lifestyle. It depends on what you are going through right now. I have a chiropractor handy 24/7, and the truth is, I get adjusted about once a month, to once every 2 weeks at most. For me, I get an adjustment when I need it.
There was a time I got adjusted every week. It was after a car accident and I had a neck issue. I had been hit on the right side of my vehicle and the impact made my neck move sideways, causing me to not be able to lean my ear towards my left shoulder at my normal flexibility. Lets just say, I could not check my blindspot to the left at all. I decided to go to a chiropractor at the suggestion of my husband (who was not a chiropractor at the time) and my friend/car insurance agent who used to be my boss. For that injury, it was a few weeks of solid weekly visits, it was the only time I had an activator used on me, and then BAM had my neck mobility back!! Phew, life could go on as usual.
Today, I ask for an adjustment when I need one. Now that I've had chiropractic for over 10 years, I know my body. I know when I'm not right. I can feel when I am "out", and I can literally point to it and say the pain is right there. Usually, the issue is in the same places due to my habits.
Chiropractic tip: Listen to your body
If something feels “off”—even slightly—pause and ask yourself: What have I been doing regularly or recently that might be causing this? Your body gives you feedback constantly. Reflect, then decide what kind of support (movement, rest, chiropractic, hydration, etc.) you actually need.
If you’re someone who sits too long, forgets to stretch, and only deals with discomfort once it’s loud enough to disrupt your day. You’re not alone, I am 1000% guilty.
Let’s learn (and laugh) together as I share the honest journey of navigating wellness, work, and chiropractic life... without the pressure to be perfect.
Stay tuned,
The Chiropractor’s Wife
